Maths prove its

Today I did a prove it on converting fractions to decimals. I did 5 questions set by Elizabeth.

The way I figured the questions out is by; for example 4/8 to a decimal. 8 goes into 4 zero time, so I add a zero to the 4 to make it 40. 8 goes into 40 five times. So the answer is 0.5.

This is my Reading journal, for all these books I have put a bit about them, though like reading books knowing nothing about them then I recommend not to read what they are about as they do give it a bit away. I recommend all these books, I like ver much and I'm sure you will too.

When the bombs come they make their way to their auntie and uncles house further away from the bombings. they arrive to find a Russian solider in their backyard. The pressure is on as they decide to spare him taking him along on their journey.

A young solder catches her and lets her go, but as Lily keeps coming back she is lucky that is the same solider. She tries to trust him to find her cat as he promises that one day he will bring her back.

In this series there are 10 books, So far I have read 5 and the books are in order. In each book it is something completely different, the places, the obstacles and of course the clues.
  • The 39 clues series  ( 10 books )- This series is an adventure around the world. When Amy and Dans grandmother passed away, they are more upset than ever. She was the only one they had left since their parents had died in the fire. In her Will she has two choices, leave now with 1 million dollars or leave with the first clues to the 39 clues. Dan and Amy become a team and decide to take the first clue for the the 39 clues. Joining a couple other teams who are much richer than they are. The first clue is the easiest of them all though it seems like the hardest. They have no one to look after them, no money, and all the teams trying to get rid of them. Though so far, they are in the lead.

Science Project

Week 9 (What I have done this week):
This term our P.B.L (project based learning) topic/theme is Science. For the first 6 weeks we did immersions on science. From human cells to Coding there was a wide range of immersions over the weeks all about science. We learnt that the immersions to help us decide on our science project investigation. In week 8 we started the science investigation process; questions, research, hypothesis, equipment, method, results, conclusion. I found it difficult to come up with a question, I tried the science buddies test - it ask's you a series of questions and it comes up with science project ideas that I might like - but it didn't help me. I finally came up with a question and found an experiment to do. We created a timeline of when we need to get things done, week 10 was the week that most people will be getting they're experiments done, since the whole presentation is due week 11 (the last week of term 1). My question is 'does colour affect temperature?' and 'If it does how/why? My hypothesis is...'I think it does but only how bright/dark the colour is because its like black absorbs more heat than white because its darker'. For my experiment I need a 100 watt lightbulb, a thermometer and 4 swatches of different colours. The way I'm presenting it is by a press so far I have done this:

My method is;
  1. Position the light so that the bulb is 45mm above a flat surface.
  2. Set the thermometer under the light and leave for 30 minutes.
  3. Record the temperature.
  4. Allow the thermometer to cool to room temperature without the light.
  5. Fold one of the pieces of fabric over the thermometer and set under the light.
  6. Leave for 30 minutes. Record the temperature.
  7. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with each different color fabric four times to get an average.
  8. Repeat steps 1-7 with different variables

eTime virtual school

eTime virtual school is an online classroom with Kayla, Nelle, Holly, Aart, Levi, Bailey, Harrison and I.  Each week we get 5-7 tasks based on the topic. Each term is a new topic. This term it is Robots. Week 1; this week was showing us how to use eTime and how to set up buddies, hand in work how to use other applications on eTime. Week 2; This week was industrial robots theme,  We watched the video, opened up and explored the class creations wall (After the weeks everyones creations are put up there for everyone to look at, you can also get trophies if the work is good), Student common room ( with the weekly mini game and weekly discussions) and this weeks page.
Class creations wall and trophies (My name is in the trophies)
Each week is a new game or activity

Next we have to watch  a prezi ( a way of presenting ) with all the information for our quiz on the weeks topic. For the quiz you get 1 hour to complete it and 5 tries to get all questions correct. Next is the creative task, this task is different each week and is the hardest and longest task to do. Over the past weeks there has been; design a industrial(Builds something) robot, Create a comic strip on a robot doctor, a news report on a military robot, interview a chat bot, create a timeline on curiosity (the rover on mars). eTime is very fun, lots of learning and we get to (be) involved/create in a new project each week. It helps us in our dispositions because we have to meet deadlines, Come up with new ideas, do I decide on good ways to share my learning, do I think about the best way to do things and many others. We are all signed up for eTime virtual school for the whole year. I wonder what next terms  topic will be, Here are all my submissions for the creative task for these past weeks;

Week 2, Design a industrial robot:

Week 3, Create a comic strip about a medical robot:

Week 4,  Create a news report on a military robot:

Week 5, Interview a chat bot:

Week 6, Timeline of curiosity the rover on mars:
